Vegan Cinnamon Rolls
So.. how to make these babies
Ingredients for the dough
300ml of almond milk
2 tbsp sugar (i did raw sugar but I'm sure you could try it with coconut sugar)
1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce
21 g of yeast (for me it was one small packet)
1 3/4 cup of gluten free flour
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of allspice
1/3 tsp of salt
Steps:
first heat the almond milk to 98 degrees or body temp (ish)
then stir in the yeast, sugar and applesauce and make sure it all dissolves
Then in a separate bowl, prepare the dry mixture (flour, cinnamon, allspice and salt)
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and fold into a dough (will be kinda sticky)
Let your dough rise for about an hour (cover the bowl with a cloth)
Once the dough has risen, take the dough and cut in half. Roll out each dough into rectangles about 1/3 an inch thick. And sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
---- so this is an oil-free recipe, but you can also lightly brush the dough with coconut oil and then sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon on it
roll the dough up and then cut into pieces about 2 inches thick.
Spray a pan with coconut oil spray and then place the cinnamon rolls on it (slightly separated bc they'll expand)
Bake at 350 for about 10-12 mins
--- P.S. mine were slightly over baked and a little crunchy so maybe check on it at like 10 mins
