Fiji

Fiji is one of the prettiest places I have ever been to. It was so lush and vibrant. An island full of waterfalls surrounded by soft coral patches. In Fiji, I went to Vanua Levu Island, Taveuni Island and the Somosomo Strait.

VANUA LEVU ISLAND:

On this island, I went to the town of Savusavu. While exploring the town of Savusavu, my friends and I went on a spontaneous hike and then to mineral baths. As we were walking along the main road in Savusavu we noticed a large hill in the distance with a road going up towards the top. We all decided that the adventure of hiking up the mountain could be fun so we walked on over to the road. The road led through neighborhoods and up random streets until it eventually ended. We noticed a path behind a house that seemed to lead up even higher, so we followed it. The hike became a lot dustier than we realized it would become and I slipped down the mountain a few times (lol was not wearing the right shoes), but we made it to a gorgeous lookout point that had amazing views of the island and the ocean. After the hike, we thought the minerals baths sounded like a great relaxing spa break we deserved. As we approached the location of the baths, we were a bit skeptical. It was in the medical facility, in the back patio area. It was two stone baths randomly placed beside the hospital. The man who ran the facility would come out and fill them with legit boiling Fiji water for people who wanted to use them. He filled up both baths for us, one was much hotter than the other and we got to bathe in them for as long as we pleased. It was boiling. I was melting but at least we were melting in Fiji water. I must say, we all had super soft skin after :)

TAVEUNI (THE GARDEN ISLAND):

This island is full of waterfalls, jungles, and beaches. On the island, we went to Bouma National Heritage Park and went to the three main waterfalls. These waterfalls were the biggest I had ever seen in my life. The water was so clean and pure. Also chilly af. The hike was also spectacular as well and offered so many stunning views of the island. I highly recommend going here!

Another sight to see on Taveuni is the naturally formed waterslides. This rock formation waterslide is sorta nearby the local prison on the island. When we went to the slides, we noticed the prisoners were following us on the slides. It seems as if they are allowed to roam free near their prison; it was kinda funny they were just playing in the water with us .

SOMOSOMO STRAIT

BEST CORAL EVER!! The diving here was beyond compare. The more vibrant soft coral I had ever witnessed in my life. This is the kinda stuff I only thought I would ever see in a Nat Geo Mag. The amount of fish was unbelievable, and the coral was astonishing. If you are going to dive anywhere, do it here!
